This deep, dark, rich hot cocoa will have you begging for more!
Candy Cane Dark Chocolate Hot Cocoa
Heat chocolate in double boiler slowly until melted, meanwhile simmer milk until just beginning to boil (with cinnamon stick)
When chocolate is fully melted, and milk is heated, gently pour milk into chocolate and whisk until smooth.
Break up candy canes in a mortar/pestle (or food processor) and grind until coarse powder and spread on a plate.
Using the tips of your fingers spread a little honey (or syrup) around the rim of each glass.
Place the rim of the glass on the plate to coat the rim in candy cane powder.
Carefully pour or ladle the hot chocolate into each glass. Add 1/2 pinch of salt to each glass and rum (if desired) finish with whipped cream and grated cocoa or cinnamon...or both, if you're feeling wild 😉
